Nassarawa Elections: Soldiers Deployed To Seize Unattended Result Sheets

Governor Tanko Al makura of the APC is alleged to have deployed soldiers to seize results sheets that are abandon by returning officers for fear of declaring results that may not favor major contending opposition party, APGA.

The development came up when officials at Lafia East, Adogi, Ashigye, Assakkio and Arikya Wards respectively, abandoned collation of results when it discovered that the results were greatly in favour of the APGA’s gubernatorial candidate, Mr. Labaran Maku.

Reports from our on the ground correspondent has it that the agents alleged that voters in the aforementioned regions came at them with dangerous weapons.

The incident the Maku campaign team said was carefully planned by the APC incumbent government to have reasons to deploy the services of “fake soldiers” who are said to be moving in unmarked vehicles.

So far, the move has been met with resistance from polling agents and party faithfuls.
