GAZA's Concept Of BUILDING PEOPLE

Leadership is about people; a leader cannot lead himself alone; unfortunately Nigeria is not at a point where leadership is about people, but we had great leaders in the past who understood that leadership was about people; Ahmadu Bello, Nnamdi Azikwe and Obafemi Awolowo and we honour them by remembering this truth.
A leader who doesn’t pull his people up hasn’t led them; anyone who has interacted with me, will know that I owe my success to my stellar grounding in Baptist High School Jos, there are many alumni who feel the same way.
Adamu can be an Astronaut tomorrow, if given the right tools today.
We know many Nigerians, who are towering figures in their fields, but we also know that the Nigerian education systems can no longer claim credit for their success; the Golden Age of Nigeria Education has passed.
This is down to the syllabus, the content is outdated, we have failed to keep up with the rest of the world; this is the conversation being had at the national level and it is one we should also have at the state level.
I intend to introduce legislation that will call for alteration of the syllabus at the all levels; my flagship constituency project will be in this sector which is “Train the Trainer”. It is an approach where we will work with instructors for Primary 1-6 over a 6 month period; the aim will be to expose them to new pedagogical models and make them efficient with e-learning systems.
We will review the success and the limitations of this approach after a 6 month period, it may call for a different approach, but I promise that and my team and I,  will keep working till Nasarawa State is at par with the International average and above the National average.
Beyond this however I will continue to pursue ways and write bills that will push the education sector, if just one boy or girl then feels the same sense of service and duty I did when I was in school because of our reforms, then my job will be done.
