The case of General Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidential
candidate of the All Progressives Congress is a situational irony where the
same advocate of credibility, patronizes lies, deceit and manipulation.
How will Nigerians explain to their children how they
arrived at such a choice if the APC succeeds in imposing on us lies and deceit
personified in the person of a certificate manipulator?
At first, while filling INEC's form, Buhari claimed he had
obtained WASC result from a Secondary School in Katsina. He pretended as if he
had presented the same result to his party for verification and moved on; this
to many Nigerians was mischievous. Why will any credible individual fill a
result he never had in a form. What would have been difficult if he had
cross-checked earlier to know the status of his certificate? Instead, he
continued to lie to himself and others.
Then, Buhari claimed his certificates were with the Army. He
threw it at investigators, asking them to get relevant details of his
certificates from the army. Haba, how can someone who claims has the capacity
to rule the country not confirm whether the army had his original certificate
or not? This is the first instance of leadership failure. Could that really be
negligence? If Buhari can be that careless about his future, then Nigerians are
in trouble. After the Military denied being in custody of Buhari's result, he
hurriedly produced a statement of result. 54 years later!
What happened to approaching WAEC/Cambridge for the real
result? Luckily bother institutions are still there and can produce any result
since their inception.
With these lies and manipulations, can any desired change
come from this man? We strongly doubt it
